When Passion And Execution Meet, Impossible Is NOTHING!

Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, too often our dreams remain just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic.

This is a sad turn of events. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day just barely existing.

But you know what? Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher.

On the other hand, many people suffer from dreaming without acting on them. The result? Broken dreams, and tattered aspirations.

Thomas Edison once said that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Nothing could be truer. For one to accomplish his or her dreams, there has to be hard work and discipline.

With that in mind, I have something very special to share with you.  My daughter Courtney has been blessed with many talents.  To some that statement might sound conceited but there’s nothing conceited about it.  Her gift is God-given.  It is her passion, her love, her Purpose.  Courtney is an entertainer and it is her passion to make a difference in this world by touching people’s lives through her gift – Courtney tells it better than I can….

Courtney is a HUGE inspiration to me and so many around her.  She knows why she is here on this earth and knows what she wants.  But most importantly, not only does she have a vision and a dream but she is making it become a reality through hard work and dedication – she is Executing on Purpose!

The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can’t do this. It’s too hard. It’s too impossible. No one can do this.

However, if everyone thought that, there would be no inventions, no innovations, and no breakthroughs in human accomplishment.

Impossible is just a word.  Like the title of Courtney’s debut album “Impossible Is NOTHING!”  When you set your mind to do something and execute, impossible means nothing.

This album is about so many things – love, loss, working together to realize a vision, friendship, LIFE.  It’s about making the Impossible, Possible!  The title of the album actually came from tragedy adverted because of the people in Courtney’s life that chose to stand up and do something.

It’s about not limiting yourself with self-doubt and self-limiting assumptions.  It’s about breaking past what you deem impossible.

You see, the key here is not to limit your imagination. It is to aim high, and start working towards that goal little by little.  If you reach too far out into the sky without working towards your goal, you will find yourself clinging on to the impossible dream.

Enjoy Courtney’s video “You’re My Lullaby”  Not only is it a beautiful song, notice the story (stories) that unfold.

Notice the rhythm of the song.  It captures the roller-coaster of emotions when a relationship is forming, a vision, a dream – a lullaby.  There will be ups and downs, times when your heart is racing and times when it’s calm.  Nothing happens over night, it’s a process. So, don’t just focus on the end result, enjoy the bumpy ride along the way.  THAT’S what it’s all about – that’s LIFE!

So dream on, friend! Don’t get caught up with your perceived limitations. Think big and work hard to attain YOUR lullaby.  As you step up the ladder of progress, you will find out that the impossible has just become a little bit more possible.

Take it from Courtney – when Passion and Execution meet, Impossible is NOTHING!

And Stay tuned….. She’s Just Getting Started!!!!!

@Marc Korn, Hi Marc! Thanks for much. Yes, I am very proud of her. While I do truly believe she has some special talents, it’s the person she is and what she does with what she has that I’m most proud of. Really knows how to get things done! She’s 20.

Courtney Paulson, Entertainer

Laura you definitely have bragging rights!

Wow! I can’t say enough about the talent of this very beautiful young lady, who, besides beauty and talent has a powerful message, is a great role model and an inspiration to young and old. Loved the video, listened to the audio twice through, love hip hop! Impressive, clean website.

By successfully bringing alive her passions and dreams of music, recording, and dance Courtney is an inspiration for us all. I’m impressed that someone so young has the knowledge and will power to be determined and never give up even though the path to success is a “bumpy ride along the way”. What a great example.

Just a little note to lengthen the time the link to Courtney’s website lingers on her video; it came and went in a flash; needs to show longer to be able to read it.

@Loren Greig, 🙂 Thank you so much Loren for the very sweet comments. Thanks too for the tip on the link on her video. I pointed that out to her and she’s going to fix it – along with the little empty caption that pops up at the beginning LOL

Yes I am very proud of her – Very Determined and I have NO DOUBT that she will make her dreams a reality.

I like the hip-hop too 🙂

Hi Laura! I remember “back when” when we were just talking about how Courtney wanted to pursue her music dream … my how time flies! Look at her now! I LOVE her video – I’ve listened/watched every single one you have posted. She has a beautiful voice and is SOOOoooooo talented – what a gift she has!

Laura, what a perfect example of how when someone has a passion, love, dream – if they PURSUE their goal and really work for it, they can accomplish ANYTHING at all … NOTHING is impossible if you set your heart and mind to it! I’ve taught my own children that nothing comes easy and if you want something bad enough and work for it, you will accomplish your goals … Courtney is doing just that. I am SO proud of her … and of YOU, too – look at how far YOU have come, too!

Congratulations to both you and Courtney … you both have a “vision” and you have both worked hard to reach your goals!

Way to go Courtney!

@Bobbi Prim, Hey Bobbi, thanks 🙂 I definitely get inspiration from her. She knows what she wants and isn’t going to stop until she gets it!!!!

She had her CD Release party for the debut album this past Friday and she SOLD OUT!!!! The club was Impressed, they weren’t expecting that – not for someone so new to the scene but she DID IT!!! WooooHooooo!!!! It was amazing the show she put together, not just her own performance but getting all the featured and guest artists, dancers, DJ, the whole nine yards – it was cool!!!

Thanks for all YOUR support too!!! Love ya!

That was AWESOME. Your daughter is very talented.
You are right so many people give up on their dreams. I think it is great that you inspire your daughter to go after hers. Some parents would say, no get a real job…do you know how hard it is to get into the music business…
She is lucky to have a parent that believes that we control our own future.

Love your points here.. Passion is the critical ingredient that must be part of the mix if you are serious about any worthwhile pursuit.

It’s what helps you to develop the single-mindedness that gives you the drive, helps you navigate the obstacles, cements your persistence, and lifts you to high performance levels, so that you can attain your objectives.

With passion and determination to work on that passion, impossible is nothing.

There’s a line from Waterworld where the guy says – it’s not your destination, it’s your destiny!. And partially because of the crazy delivery of the line and partially because the line actually hits at something it stayed with me. Silly I know, but sometimes when I get frustrated with the process or during the process, I’ll say this to myself, breathe and go with the flow of the journey in that moment. The path becomes a bit clearer and my stress goes down and I can more effectively deal with whatever obstacle or challenge has arisen. Congrats to Courtney for her beautiful efforts- Rob

So true. Thomas Edison has failed thousands of times but he did want to achieve his goals and did not let the failures stop him from achieving it. Failure is part of success, and it shouldn’t let it stop us from chasing our dreams.

Just like Michael Jordan said, “Limits, like fear is often just an illusion”. We have nothing to be afraid of if we truly believe in ourselves.
