Work At Home Job Sources

Oftentimes, I will get requests for information from individuals who aren’t really looking for time and financial freedom with a home business but rather just an internet “work at home job” earning a few extra dollars a week working for somebody else.  Something that allows them to work – or quit – nothing more, – just like working in the “corporate world” – in other words “trading hours for dollars”.

For individuals looking for a Home JOB, they need to be very careful in their search and should NEVER pay to work as an Employee from home.  The company will pay you an hourly rate while working from home.  A Home JOB is a lot more difficult to find than a Home Business.  The down side is that these jobs are very few and far between, the ones that are out there that are legitimate can have a waiting list and thousands or more applicants a day.

While you should NEVER have to pay to work from home as an EMPLOYEE, there are exceptions.  Oftentimes you are still considered an independent contractor and you will be responsible for paying for things like a drug test or background check if that company requires it.   You also are responsible for having the proper equipment such as high speed internet connection, a landline or 2nd line and proper headset and equipment, a QUIET home office and such…..each company is different.

Here’s some typical Work At Home SCAMS to look out for….

Assembly Work At Home, Envelop Stuffing, Chain Letters, Home Typist/Order /Application Taker, Appointment Setter, Lists of companies hiring home workers, Online Business (e.g. no work involved, get rich quick scheme), Processing Medical Insurance Claims, Reading books for pay, Email processers, Rebate Processing…. and the list goes on.

Also, if you’re being interviewed by some “company” via live chat (and especially late at night), STOP! It’s more than likely a scam.  One of my newest team members had this happen to her and they tried to wipe out her account.

If you’re asked for money, when in doubt, my suggestion is that you purchase one of those prepaid visa cards and put just enough money to cover.  Personally, I wouldn’t send anyone any money unless I was first able to verify that the company was actually “real”.  But, at least this way, you don’t have to worry about someone wiping out your bank account or charging up your credit card.  Or worse yet, identify theft.

If you know anyone who may be looking for a job from home, please pass along this information.  This list is just a start but with all the junk that’s out there, they’ll thank you for it.

To Your Success!
