Hi Laura,
Thanks for sharing this article on Do Follow Blog. I’ve seen the badge but I didn’t know what it is. The instructions were easy to follow and I was able to install the badge easily on my blog. I’m curious to see if my traffic will increase and by the commentaries, it seems that the members are pleased. After a period of time, I would like to write an article about the effectiveness of the badge.
Thank You,
Raena Lynn
Hey Laura, it’s amazing how much more traffic and comments you get by having a DoFollow blog – I highly recommend it! It’s a great way to interact with your readers and give them some benefit for perusing and coming back to your site over and over again!
Laura, this post is filled with many golden nuggets. Your reference to Heather Stevens and then her reference to others gave me the information to gain an understanding of NoFollow and DoFollow. As a results of your information, I feel like I added a lot to my blog today. It sure is great to be a member of the TSA and meet people like you.
I want to say a BIG THANKS to you.

Laura,
Thanks so much for the information and the link to the specifics on how to create a DoFollow Blog. We appreciate those who share great knowledge with others that they can use to benefit their online business.

@Pat and Lorna Shanks, Thanks Pat and Lorna. I couldn’t agree more. The two of you are a prime example of this!!!! Thanks, Laura
Hi Laura,
Win win situations are win win situations.The do follow idea is very creative. Great job
@Joe LoFreso with LGN Prosperity, Hey Joe! Thanks for the comment!
I have been skeptical only because I have read that studies show no real difference in no follow and do follow. Then again, others say differently. Knowing nothing about the technical voo-doo behind any search engine’s algorithms leaves me unable to interpret the various sides. I think that there is a huge tendency toward the 2 sentence “thumbs up” (what Heather called the 2 word thumbs up). Community includes discussion. And this seems to happen with or without do follow. Even more powerful than do follow, though, is something you practiced in this post and in some of your other posts – giving a link in the context of the post itself, such as the one you gave to Heather. Now that is a powerful way to build community and relationships!
@Richard Goutal, Hi Richard, oh yes I’ve heard both sides as well. It does and it doesn’t and just one piece.
And I agree, it’s all about community and if we can add another element to that, all the better. I’m all for “WIN-WIN”!
Have an Awesome Day! Thanks, Laura
I’m continually amazed at what people are coming up with … and this DOFollow button is no different! Brilliant!! Thank you so much for sharing!! What incredible value!
@Lorri Ratzlaff, Hey Lorri, Agree 🙂 I thought it was cool. Thanks, Laura
Laura,
Thanks so much for adding this extra touch to blogging and commenting. I’ll definitely give it a whirl.
Adam
@Dr. Adam Sheck, Hey Dr. Adam,
Hmmmm, “Get Your Man To Share His Feelings” – I’ll have to head on over and check it out :). You always offer great advice. Thanks for the comment!
Hi Laura,
I love the “Do Follow” idea and was glad to find that I already have all these on my blog. I appreciated the link to Heather’s blog to also follow 🙂
Christine
@Christine Casey, Hi Christine,
Great! Yes, Heather is awesome and she shares a lot of great information on her blog. Thanks, Laura
Hey there Laura,
Create post here, having a DO FOLLOW blog is a huge thing to consider. It will for sure encourage more people to comment if they know their backlinks are getting your PR passed to them in Google. The next step is to actually get your page rank to a high level…
Rock on,
Matthew Neer
@Matthew Neer, Hey Matthew,
I agree. There are definitely pros and cons but I felt the pros outweighed the cons and I like to reward my commentors. Of course there’s a higher chance of spam comments but I haven’t seen an increase yet (well, it’s only been a couple weeks) but definitely something to gauge.
I feel as long as you’re continuously adding good content, you’ll be fine and it won’t adversely affect your rank but yes definitely getting your page rank up.
Thanks for everything you do for us in the TSA, et el! Have an Awesome Day! Laura
Hi Laura,
thanks for the great information.
Now I have the do follow installed on my blog and it feels good.
I am all for the Win – Win!
Much appreciated!
Yorinda
@Yorinda, Hey Yorinda, you’re welcome. It does feel good, doesn’t it?! Thanks for the comment. Make it a Great Day! Laura
Hey Laura,
Rewarding your commenters is very important to me. I reward them with Do-follow links as well. It’s the least that we can do for them commenting on our blogs.
~ Tim
@Tim Colletti, Hi Tim, yes I really believe it’s the right thing to do. I like your how-to on organizing your FB friends. It was real helpful. Thanks for the comment, Laura
Laura
Okay this was really cool. This is the first time I’ve seen the DoFollow plugIn. Yet another way to help each other out! (-:
Debby Beachy!
@Debby Beachy, Hey Debby, I was just learning more about it too and it was cool that Heather even created a banner for us to use. Thanks, Laura
Hey Laura,
Thanks for this post. I think it is important that we reward those who take the time to comment on our blog. I do believe I have a do-follow blog 🙂
Beth 🙂
@Beth Hewitt, Hi Beth, I believe so. It always feel good when you can create a win-win! Thanks, Laura
This is an excellent idea you have there Laura. Creating a movement for Dofollow blogs will definitely encourage more people to comment on blogs.
@Loic, Hey Loic, thanks for the comment!
Great information. Heather’s blog is really amazing. I have Askimet but don’t have the other one, I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for sharing this with us.
@Nicole Rushin, Hey Nicole,
Yes, I love Heather’s Blog. She’s a great writer. I didn’t add the Captcha to mine and just have the Askimet but that seems to be just fine.
Thanks, Laura
Hey Laura,
Great Post!! I just found out about the difference between a dofollow and a nofollow blog. I just started to work on a self-hosted dofollow looking forward to better results. This was some great valuable information and I’m going to look forward to more of your blogs!!
Take Care
Sherman
@Sherman Smith, Hey Sherman, thanks for the comment. If I can help in any way, let me know. I’m glad the info was helpful.
Thanks, Laura
Hi Laura thanks for pointing that out. I do not have the plugin capability on my blog so I’m going to have to do some research to see if mine already is a do follow. I believe it is but I’m not sure.
Michael
@Michael Berry, Hi Michael,
If you read the post that Heather links in hers, Josh walks through how to find out. Basically just right click on the links in the comment section, view source and it will say whether it’s dofollow or not.
Hope that helps. Thanks, Laura
Hey Laura,
Great info, short and sweet. I had been blogging for quite a long time before I ever heard of the dofollow capability. And you’re right, it’s a great way to reward others for contributing to your blog.
I’ll have to get to doing the same on my blog. Awesome idea – thanks!
@Kathy Jodrey, Hey Kathy,
I was the same way. I did know about it but wasn’t real clear on the differences so finding Heather’s post was perfect and she even created a badge which was an added plus.
Thanks for the comment, Laura
I love having a dofollow blog. It is such a great way to see what other people are writing.
@Kevin M., Hi Kevin, I love your Favorite Links Friday idea and I’m going to do something similar. There is just so much great information out there. It is fun to see what others are writing about and it triggers even more ideas for your own blog.
Thanks, Laura
Laura, thank you so much for sharing this post about do follow. I will implement immediately on my blog. As a member of TSA commenting is a big part of what we do and making sure our blogs reward fellow members for their efforts is certainly the right thing to do.
@Brenda Abraham, Hi Brenda,
Yes, I agree. There is just so much benefit all around when you engage in the conversation. We can all learn so much from each other and it definitely is a Win-Win.
Thanks, Laura
Phew! I’m finally back. Laura, your post sent me on quite a little expedition! To Heather’s post ~ to Josh Garcia’s post ~ to installing all sorts of great new things and now being a DoFollow blog! 🙂
So I have a question….I’ve save the cool badge Heather made and loaded it to my media library on my blog, but how do I get it into a widget?
Thanks for sharing this great information!
@Beth Allen, Hey Beth, awesome! I was actually planning on doing a quick demo on this but don’t have time right now and didn’t want to leave you waiting.
So, all you do is create a page, in visual mode insert the image and add any text that you want. Once everything looks good, click on HTML button (copy the code), save a draft of your page so you can go back and fix or change later if needed, add a TXT/HTML widget to your side bar, paste the html code and save. And there you go!
If any problems, feel free to skype me (lauramp65) and I can walk you through it.
Thanks, Laura
Thanks Laura!
I checked out Heather’s site. Thank you for bringing the DoFollow Blog to light.

@Eiji Morishita, Hi Eiji, you’re welcome.
I did catch up on the Tony Robbins special after reading your blog post about it and then learned that NBC canceled the series?! I couldn’t believe it – they were very inspirational. Oh well, maybe they’ll change their mind and at least I was able to watch the ones I missed. Thanks, Laura
Hi Laura!
Thanks for the mention! Way to go on joining the DoFollow movement! Feels good to be sharing the link love, doesn’t it!?!?!
I love your blog!
Heather
@Heather C Stephens, Hey Heather! Yes it does 🙂
Thanks so much for the information. I was wanting to do it but wasn’t solid on the ins/outs so came across your blog/post at the perfect time and even got a free badge to boot so that was cool – Thanks!
And my apologies, I did leave a comment on yours yesterday but not showing so not sure if I forgot to click comment or it got lost in the spam.
But you have an awesome blog filled with TONS of great info so I’ll definitely be a frequent visitor :).
Have an Awesome Day! Laura
